After having to endure nothing less than an epic journey to get to Camberley on a Friday night with the M25 closed the U15s made it all worthwhile with a convincing win over Camberley in the WSL cup semi-final with a 69 run victory. After winning the toss and batting first, Ashtead added 58 for the first wicket before Marcus Caprano-Wint was run out for 33. Sam Hunt [22] fell soon after and it was left to Blake Fildes to strike a rapid 31 to set a challenging total of 127 for 5 wickets off the allotted 20 overs.
In reply, the response started disasterously for Camberley as Sam Hunt struck in the first over, followed 2 balls later by a Ben Geddes run out. The innings ver really recovered with Marcus Caprano-Wint [3 for 11 off 4 overs] and James Graham [2 for 7 off 2.3 overs] rapping the innings up off 15.3 overs for the total of 58.
The boys now meet Cranleigh in the final next week.
