Esher won the toss and chose to open the batting. Despite some excellent fielding, including two stumpings by Luc Hutter, two solid catches by John Shaw and three wickets from Kian Hamin, Esher cruised to 118 runs which included 25 expensive extras. Esher's fast bowlers caused problems for Ashtead's batsmen and despite a strong innings from Ned Weston with 21 runs from 30 balls and a late stand from Harvey Harrington of 11 runs and Kian Hamin with 9 runs, Ashtead could only take in all 57 runs from the bat with 14 extras leaving us short at 71 runs for 10 wickets. The team played with good spirit and were rewarded with the runners up medals which brought end of season smiles all round.
