Thames Ditton v Ashtead U9B

A first competitive experience for half this team. Having lost the toss and been put in to bat first this was a tough test for the boys against some stiff direct bowling. Despite Callum and Euan finding their range and hitting boundaries and especially good running between the wicket by Jed the loss of 9 wickets was going to be difficult to defend. The boys however gave it a very good go. Notable highlights were 2 fantastic catches by Joe at extra cover, Samuel and George grabbing wickets and James grabbing 2 wickets in the final over desperately trying to claw the game back, plus a wicket for Felix and a superb stop on the boundary by Felix saving 3 runs. Despite all this the match was narrowly lost...onwards and upwards!
