Ashtead won the toss and put the visitors in to bat. Wickets tumbled and Valley End found themselves at 7-3 in the 3rd over with the first 3 batsmen all clean bowled by Tom Williams. Captain Stephen Tomlinson dug his heels in and amassed 52 before being bowled by Sam Homes with the score on 76. An impressive array of bowling was seen from all Ashtead's men, athough mutterings were to be heard from the batsmen about the wicket and lack of bounce making it impossible to score runs, but Williams topped the list finishing with figures of 15.1 overs, 8 mdns, 23 for 6 as valley End were bowled out for 115 in 48.1 overs.
Ashtead's batsmen found it equally hard to score and the Stags innings followed a very similar pattern to the visitors. Three wickets fell for 19 runs in 9 overs before George Tyson and James Culff took charge and moved the score on to 58 before George was caught off the first ball of spinner Mark Tomlinson for 29. However patience was the call of the day and despite painfully slow progress captain Steve Tyson (not out 17) together with Culff (not out 37) made sure of another Ashtead win.
