Beating Walton on Thames by 17 runs in a T20

After much overnight rain, along with a downpour prior to the start, the game vs Walton on Thames was reduced to a 20 overs a side.

Losing the toss Ashtead batted first and started slowly. Wickets tumbled regularly but it was a few good knocks from Sam Homes (18), Nikhil Waugh (18*) and Steve Tyson (29*) that set up the eventual score of 111-8 off the allotted 20 overs.

Ashtead looked urgent and busy in the field and were rewarded with a wicket at the end of the first over. Some tight bowling from Waugh and Dunn made it difficult to score runs, and then the introduction of spin helped change the game as Sam Homes rounded a good all round day to finish 4-0-9-3.

The reintroduction of Waugh and Dunn at the end made it even harder for Walton who finally finished on 94-6 off their 20 overs, 17 runs short.

A good win for the Stags on a day that a few other sides won't have played.
