ACC U13 played very well to beat Whitely Village CC at our Headley home ground on a bright Sunday morning in a West Surrey League Match. Ashtead batted first and scored 153 for 6. Ned Hussey top scored with 39 before retiring, hitting 3 sixes. George Bustard scored a steady 12 singles and Tom Gulliver was pleased with his first ever 6, hit over the fence and across the Headley Road, making a solid 26. Sam Williams, making his debut for the season hit a classy 4 and Tom McAllister looked imposing at the crease hitting 2 big fours. The boys who didn’t get an opportunity to bat scored a lot of points for making cups of tea for the spectators, making a very positive impressive!
Eight of the boys got to bowl before dismissing Whitely for 33 runs off 14 overs. Both Parth Gupta and Daniel Fisher took 2 wickets for 2 runs off 2 overs, Tom McAllister took 2 wickets for 3 off his over, Olli Tubb took 1 wicket for 5, Harry Amer 1 for 12 and Sam Williams and George Bustard both bowled maiden overs. Great fielding was highlighted by a direct hit run out by Harry Amer from deep cover and a diving low catch by Daniel Fisher to close the innings. Thanks go to Josh Lyons who kindly stepped up to play for Whiteley and Simon Bennett for scoring.
Well done boys, great camaraderie with excellent behaviours on and off the pitch.
