The U14s continued their winning start in the MSL with a fine 9 wicket win over Wimbledon. Ashtead won the toss and asked Wimbledon to bat first at the Raynes Park ground. Sam Hunt made the early breakthrough having opener Ashworth caught by Max Lowrey. George platon [19] and Thomas Wood added a steady 28 before Ben Geddes took Woods wicket. With only Thomas Little [20] and William Page [21 Not out] making any score to note the innings closed 0n 118 for 8 off the allotted 24 overs. Ben Geddes with 3 for 18 was the pick of the Ashtead bowlers.
In reply, Sam Hunt [43], who continued his fine form from last week, and Marcus Caprano-Wint [50 retired] added an opening stand of 106 before Hunt cut to point and was caught. After Marcus retired it was left to Ben Geddes and Max Lowry to see Ashtead home off only 18.4 overs. A comfortable win for Ashtead. Keep up the good work boys!
