Another impressive display by the U11 A team sees them record the second win of the season

In what turned out to be a game which shared many similarities with the first match of the season, having won the toss Ashtead chose to bowl on a slow low Leatherhead pitch.
The Ashtead bowling attack was again quickly into its stride with Sam Jenkins strongly supported by Euan Mason, taking 3 wickets in is opening 3 overs. This initial performance was backed up from all of the following bowlers (Jed Brockes, Matthew Shaddrack, Tom Perkins, Paddy Crossan, Henry Frazer-Ker and Dom Bunyard) who all kept the pressure on the Leatherhead batsman, which results in the fall of wickets, which were well spread between the following Ashtead bowlers (Tom Perkins taking 2 wickets). The bowling was backed up by a tight fielding display as typified by Henry. The result of Ashtead's hard work saw Leatherhead restricted to 86 for 8 from their full 20 overs.

In response Ashtead once again produced a strong response with Luke Hutter having had one escape from a near run-out taking the attack to Leatherhead and scoring 24 which included two sixes before eventually being out caught, having put on 54 for the first wicket. Daniel Geddes was equally impressive at the other end scoring a chanceless 33 not-out before having to retire. Whilst Ashtead lost a further 2 wickets Toby Arnett batting very sensibly at the other end with 10 not out helped see the total to 87 for the loss of 3 wickets in 13.5 overs.

A special thank you also to Gary Mason for scoring it was much appreciated
