Having just about recovered from losing 13 wickets last week this was going to be a nervous match for the supporters. A win desperately needed and this match being a derby against football and school friends (but not tonight!)at Leatherhead.
Leatherhead batted first and thanks to some tight bowling from all the boys tonight we restricted them to 238, mainly due to the capture of 9 wickets. 2 for Perkins, 1 each for Graham, Vishnoi, McLoughlin, Horner Long and a fine caught & bowled by Martin. Thanks also to 4 catches and a run out from Haigh, excellent in the field and good keeping by Hutter.
Going into bat the boys were feeling confident having captured 9 Leatherhead wickets. A stern talking to before they went out not to swing the bat like cheerleaders and to remember we lost 13...yes 13 wickets last week. Well what a difference all the boys batted sensibly and straight, taking singles and picking off the odd boundary and for the loss of only 2...yes 2 wickets...keep it like that and we will win many more matches. McLoughlin top scoring with 13 off the bat. Well done everyone.
