The 3s won their penultimate game of the season against Weybridge to keep themselves in the hunt mathematically!
Having won the toss we inserted Weybridge who finished all out on 129. Christian Burgess captured 2 early wickets before keeper Parky went off to hospital with a sour pinky (dislocated and cracked thumb - ouch - but you should have caught it!). With the inclusion of the spin brothers of Connor Caprano-Wint 3-16 and Marcus Caprano-Wint 4-13 Ashtead skittled Weybridge with only skipper Taylor contributing scoring 72.
In reply, Ashtead looked assured and reached the target with the loss of no wickets with Tom Culhane finishing on 60* and Sam Gale 54*.
Is this too little too late, depending on the results at Banstead we could be just 2 points adrift with one game to go.
Can we pull the rabbit out of the hat?
UPDATE 31/8 8am: Late last night I heard Banstead beat Dulwich so our fight for survival has now finished as we can't catch them anymore. But lets go out with a bang over at Dulwich next week!
