In the second league game of the 2014 season, Ashtead fell short to lose by nearly 50 runs.
We bowled first and soon had Spencer in trouble, picking up 4 early wickets, 36-4 in the 18th over was a fantastic start. But the Spencer skipper then batted the rest of the innings to finish on 95* and there score reached 195-7 in their allotted 50 overs. James Hill finished the pick of the bowling with 3-31 in his 10 overs.
In reply, Ashtead were well up with the run rate until the skipper, Wint was the first man out for 15, wickets tumbled at regular intervals and it was only the inclusion of James Hill to top a man of the match performance by bashing 41 quick runs, and with Jake Martin finishing on 29* and Matt Jepp for 26 the Stags were finally out for 144, 54 runs short.
