After last weeks battling draw, the 3s travelled to Beddington on yet another autumnal Saturday afternoon. Losing the toss Ashtead were inserted and were struggling at 74-5 and then 96-6. But the rock that is Tom Reed (60) these days battled it out and with the help of the 9th wicket partnership of 50 with Will Bishop (25) and 10th wicket partnership of 25 with Marcus Caprano-Wint (3*) got the score up to199 before he was finally out stumped of the 1st ball of the 51st over.
Needing just 4 an over,Beddington were always in with a shout, but Ashtead managed to take regular wickets with Will Bishop picking up to in his spell, the key spell seemed to come just after drinks when Beddington were sitting comfortable ahead of the run rate but Bupesh and Marcus pegged things back and took wickets. The total was still within sight needing just 17 runs, Aaron Rose got the final two wickets with a sublime catch behind the stumps by Jack and then a sharp catch at short cover by Charlie Pountney.
A good win, in a game that could have gone either way, the 13 points for that win could be vital at the end of the season.
