Ashtead 3s travelled to Spencer and decided to put the opposition in after winning the toss.
With bad weather all around the Ashtead opening bowlers started well, a good caught and bowled by Oliver Cooper taking the first wicket. After several rain breaks and disruptions, Spencer declared on 133-5 with Marcus Caprano-Wint being the pick of the bowlers taking 3-9 in his five overs.
In reply, after a massive rain storm Ashtead started slowly, standing up was not easy for batter or bowler and Wint was the first to go for a watchful 7. Nichols came and went the first ball later and Whitely and Parkinson steadied the ship for a while.
But wickets tumbled regularly and Parkinson was the 9th wicket to go for 42 with the score in the early 80's. This left the young Caprano-Wint brothers to bat out over 7 overs to claim the losing draw.
They picked up the odd run and thankfully held out for the draw with a couple of load stumping appeals with Connor on 7* and Marcus on 3* and pushed the score to 92-9 in 45 overs.
One point was all that could be gained against a very strong bowling attack that Spencer have.
