Ashtead hit the dizzy heights of top of Division 1 following another very convincing 10 wicket win, this time over Beddington.
Having won the toss skipper Tom Culhane had no hesitation in bowling first, and the opening spell of Rose and Burgess saw a rapid collection of wickets as 5 fell before they both came off, 4 to Rose and 1 to Burgess. Some stubborn batting followed but 2 wickets to Jan and Elburn, followed by the final wicket to Rose to finish with 5-11 saw Beddington bowled out in the 35th over for 75.
In reply Culhane 37* and Pitt 33* completed the task of knocking off the runs in the 20th over without the loss of a wicket, completing a very comprehensive 10 wicket win.
The 3s now sit on top of the league, with games against bottom placed Cheam, Normandy and Oxted and Limpsfield to come, but it's tight as the top 3 are separated by just 4 points, take a look at http://surreychampionship.play-cricket.com/website/websites/view_division?id=58675
