Ashtead 3s travelled to Old Wimbledonians with confidence running high after some excellent performances, this weekend the side did not dissapoint with a brutal 9 wicket victory over the South West London side.
Having won the toss Ashtead had no hesitation in bowling on a green looking wicket and were instantly rewarded with wickets as the opening burst of Rose (2-11) and Burgess (7-46) pegged the opposition back to 11-4 very early on. Some excellent fielding and catches saw more wickets tumble as Burgess added to his haul on regular occasions and took his 7th and final wicket with the score 64-9. Dunn (1-12) wrapped up the innings in the 25th over as the final batsman was bowled with the score on 70.
Tea wasn't ready so openers Pitt and Wint went straight out and set about their task watchfully. Pitt was extremely brutal on anything short and finished 49 not out as Wint fell with just 6 runs needed for a cautious 19. The win was complete in the 17th over and saw Ashtead take 24 points to elevate them to 4th in the league.
